How Can We Be Made Right In God's Sight?

Morning Inspiration: We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved this way, no matter who we are or what we have done. Romans 3:22 When we put our complete trust in Jesus, He gives and He forgives...all at once. He gives us fresh life, a brand new start, with a clean slate. He forgives all our sin, and helps us begin living again! Through our faith alone, He helps us recognize what we’ve done wrong, & gives us the desire to change. Our trust in Him as our Savior, allows us to completely transform our life. No matter how ashamed or embarrassed we are of our past, Jesus gives us freedom today, by guaranteeing all of our tomorrows! Knowing we will soon be with the Lord in eternal paradise, gives us the courage to face the uncertainties we face each day in this life.

Day After Surgery Update for Pastor Clarke

I had a great visit w Pastor Clarke at the hospital this morning. His color looks real good, and he is doing well considering the severity of the surgery, which lasted well over 5 hours. He is still in a lot of pain, & was a bit disappointed to learn he will need more chemo & radiation once he has recovered enough. They are planning to get him up to walk a few times today, & while that will be difficult, it should help his body jumpstart its recovery. His spirit is strong & he is looking forward to being active in ministry again the minute he feels well enough. I reminded him this is his season to rest & recharger, so that he can come back strong. His wife Liz was there as we prayed for complete healing & restoration. They are both very grateful for your continuing prayers.

Finding The Strength For Today!

Morning Inspiration: Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. 2nd Thessalonians 2:16-17 Paul’s request is a powerful reminder before we head out this morning! Because of His unequaled love, God pours out His undeserved grace on all that we think, do & say. Doing our best, in His name, is all that God asks of us each day. Knowing that should bring us great encouragement, hope & comfort. Don’t be overwhelmed by all the world expects of us. It is through the love of Jesus that we are strong enough to accomplish all the good things He has planned for us today!

Pastor Clarke Out Of Surgery!

Just got word from Liz that Pastor Clarke came through the surgery quite well this afternoon. Docs believe they got all of the cancer. Very good news and powerful answers to our prayers! Praise God! This will still be a difficult recovery that will take him some time & adjustment.  Thanks for allowing the family some privacy, & for your continued prayers.  If he feels up to it, I will visit in the morning and keep you updated.

What Am I Afraid Of?

In honor of Pastor Carke Sherer, as he undergoes surgery to remove his potentially deadly colon cancer tumor this morning.

Morning Inspiration: Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 Life is filled with doubt, dismay & danger. Whether it’s your job, your health, your family or your wealth, there is always plenty to worry about. It’s easy to be swept away in a flood of worries. This is a powerful promise from Scripture, that we can always trust in God. Instead of being worried & discouraged, we can be comforted & encouraged, by drawing closer to our Creator. He sent His Son Jesus, to give us His wisdom, strength & confidence. Even when survival seems impossible, we can trust in the Lord to help us eventually raise our hand in victory.

Prayer Requests

Prayer requests for two of my favorite men! Don Compton is at Rust with some respiratory problems. Stan Farmer is at the VA Hospital with circulation & heart issues. Both of them are beautiful examples of serving Jesus throughout their lives. Thanks for joining me in in prayer for them, AND their wonderful wives...Lola Compton & Chris Farmer
Morning Inspiration: Brothers & sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other & to everyone else. Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1st Thessalonians ‪5:14-18‬

The Key To Loving Like God Loves

Morning Inspiration: “You must be compassionate, just as your Father
is compassionate.”
Jesus, quoted in Luke 6:36

Compassion is more than deep concern for the situations, sufferings or
misfortunes of others; it is love. The concept of love that Jesus
introduced, is unlike anything the world had ever seen! Loving those
who love us, is not enough. We are to love those who are ungrateful,
unworthy & ungodly. Jesus says we are even to love our enemies! That’s
difficult for us to think about, yet alone practice. It is only
possible through harnessing the power of God’s Holy Spirit.  Keep
asking Him to help you develop the deep compassion for others, that
Jesus has for you. True love for others is not a feeling. It’s a
commitment that begins with compassion for all of mankind.

NCC Teens Need Rides to School/Church/Activities

One of our single mom's had to leave town for a few weeks, (thru Feb 5) for a big job at the Super Bowl. Her college age daughter is looking after the high school girls, but doesn't have a car. They live near Indian School & University, & need to be to class at La Cueva (Wyoming/Alameda area) by 7:15am weekdays. They also need some rides to/from after school activities. Dance practice is at Highland HS until 7:30pm. Swim practice at Sandia HS 4-5:30pm. Then of course they would like a ride to Sunday service at 10:45.  If you might be able to help with Rides for any of these needs, please email Pastor Steve: steves@nccabq.org

Does Hard Work Get Us To Heaven?

Morning Inspiration: “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. 25 When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ Jesus, in Luke 13:24-25 Several other Scriptures make it clear we can’t work (or earn) our way into heaven. Our works; the good things we do for others, are worthless, unless they come directly out of our love for Jesus. Love creates a sincere desire to please Him through our service. The ‘work’ referred to here, is the task of getting to truly know Jesus on a deep & personal level. Sincerely trusting in Jesus as our Savior, striving to follow His teachings, & telling others about Him; that is the the hard work that takes us through the narrow door.

Prayers for NCC's Oldest Veteran!

My friend Stan Farmer is asking for your prayers. Stan is a WW2 Navy Veteran his early 90's, who saw action in something like 10 of the 13 major battles in the Pacific. He's a great man of God, & a dear brother in the faith. Stan is back in the Veteran's hospital, with circulation problems, and open wounds on his legs. He is also dealing with congestive heart failure, & the meds are affecting his kidneys. Even with all these challenges, Stan loves life, & hopes to live to 100! Several times, I've had the true pleasure of sitting beside Mr. Farmer's hospital bed & hearing about his faith. He is a Prayer Warrior who loves to pray for others. This is our chance to thank him for his example, for his service & to pray for him, and his loving & dedicated wife Chris!

Forgiveness is a Requirement

Morning Inspiration: Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.  “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.” Matthew 18:32-35
Forgiving others is not an option...it’s a requirement! We all LOVE knowing that God’s grace (also know as His forgiveness) is an amazing gift offered to us. We too easily forget that it can’t be given, until we have forgiven! Regardless of how much someone may have hurt or damaged us, we must forgive them from deep inside our heart, in order for our forgiveness from Jesus to start. Holding on to anger & resentment is like carrying poison inside your soul.  Pour it out through your forgiveness of others. Then experience the…

Careful Listening, Deeper Understanding

Morning Inspiration:  “To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.”  Jesus in Mark 4:25
Who doesn’t desire a deeper understanding of God’s plan for us in this world? As Jesus uses the term here, ‘listening’ is much more than just hearing what He says. If you hear God’s Word, but don’t listen carefully to what it teaches us to do, then it becomes worthless.  Careful listening gives us a much deeper understanding of what to expect, & how to react. Jesus warns that careless or lazy listening, puts us in danger of losing what understanding we may already have. Listen carefully to all that Jesus teaches; then think about it seriously, pray deeply & respond eagerly.
May God Bless,
Pastor Steve Stucker
Morning Inspiration:  So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9
Discouragement is common to those who are doing good things for others. You can often feel that you’re not making a difference, or that those you help don’t care. Yet, we can’t fall into the trap of despair. The Lord is preparing a huge harvest of reward & blessings for you; so continue to be enthused with the good works Jesus has given you to do!

Morning Inspiration: “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.”
Jesus, in Revelation 3:20 As we head off into the reality of a brand new year, we feel both excited, & unsure. We hope to improve our lives, & the lives of others...yet we don’t know exactly what the future will bring our way. This Scripture is the perfect foundation to build our plan on! Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart, asking to come into your life, to share His wisdom, His love & His forgiveness. Think of reading His Word, as dining daily with the King! How could we possibly pass up an invitation of such honor & significance? Feeding on all He has to offer, prepares us for the battles that are certain to come. Regardless of what the world throws at us, disappointment, despair, d…
