Sharing Our Joy

Morning Inspiration: I will thank you, Lord, with all my heart: I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1-2
God has given & given & given in my life. It would be selfish & unnatural to keep it all to myself. How can I not tell others of all He has done for me? Recognizing His gifts daily, & reminding myself of His generosity, brings great joy to my heart, mind & soul! Telling others, can bring the same great blessings to them.

How God 'Is With Us'!

Morning Inspiration! All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means 'God is with us'). Isaiah 7:14 God gave the evil King Ahaz the chance to ask for a sign that would be incredibly difficult for the Lord to fulfill. Ahaz refused, so God set a bar that seemed impossibly high: A virgin would give birth to a child, Who would be God! In Matthew 1:23, the Holy Spirit tells us the birth of Jesus is the fulfillment of that prophecy. Jesus is Immanuel in a wide variety of ways: He came as God, to live on earth with us; He sent His Holy Spirit to be with us continuously, through every action in our life that we begin & end in His name; He comforts, protects, enlightens & encourages us in all our trials & temptations, all the way through death & judgement! All this became possible for us with the miraculous birth of Jesus; but it is only fulfilled when …

Who Searches For Jesus?

Morning Inspiration! After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Matthew 2:9-11 Entire books have been written about this short passage of Scripture, because it is incredibly important. These Scholars-Leaders came from far away lands, to see a child (he was no longer a baby) whose birth had been ignored in His own nation! They bowed down & worshiped Jesus, though there is no evidence they had offered the same respect to King Herod! Many believe they were the descendants of those taught/trained by Daniel (who saved the very lives of their ancestors). It’s interesting to note that the first ‘followers of Christ’ (or at least the star that led them to Him) were overcome with joy when they foun…

Are You 'Important Enough' For God To Use?

Morning Inspiration! That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! Luke 2:8–12 Shepherds were typically poor, humble peasants, not highly valued in society. Yet to God, they were important enough to rate a visit from His Angels, with an invitation to meet the baby Jesus! In God’s eyes, we are each valued & loved, no matter our station in life. Could these have been the same shepherds who watched over the lambs that were sent to the Temple for sacrifices? Regardless, they were personally invited to visit the Lamb of God, Who came to take away our sins! Wherever God has placed you in this world, He ha…

The Obedience Of A Man Who Had Been Wronged

Morning Inspiration! When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. Matthew 1:24 Joseph’s critically important role in the birth of Jesus, is so often overlooked. Though seldom honored or thought of as highly as Mary, Joseph is just as important of a role model for us to try & imitate in our lives. He faced extremely difficult dilemmas in every direction. The Law said to stone Mary to death, but he loved her. Being of strong character, he wouldn’t disgrace her publicly, & planned to quietly, sadly, just go away. God gave him a totally unexpected order, that may have been the most difficult choice of all; to marry her, & raise the child as his own. He knew they would face ridicule, rumors & unfair treatment. Seldom is the right thing to do, the easy thing to do. We must do it anyway, especially when it comes from the Lord. Living for Jesus, means putting the good of others before our ego, desire & pride. The tests in life m…

The Faith Of A Frightened Young Girl

Morning Inspiration! Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed. For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. Luke 1:46–50
She was unmarried & pregnant. Society viewed Mary with skepticism & scorn; how could a virgin be with child? Because she truly believed the Lord, Mary knew the truth. She realized God would not only reverse her fortunes, but turn the world upside down through the birth of her child Jesus. While she couldn’t have known all that was to happen, she trusted in the eventual outcome through her simple, yet powerful faith. Mary knew the proud would be brought down, & the humble would be exalted. She was as humble as could be; awed that she had been chosen for this difficult but honored position. It is by faith alone that we are saved through God’s…

Trusting The Light Through The Dark

Morning Inspiration! “Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going. Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.”
John 12:35-36 This world is filled with dangerous traps, & a simple misstep that seems harmless, can plunge us into the darkness of things like addiction, pornography, treachery & even murder. Jesus is our light, always available to guide us so we can clearly see the way. As we learn to trust Him & follow His lead, we become children of The Light, who are able to help others find their way through the darkness!

What Happens When Christ Fills Our Lives

Morning Inspiration! Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Colossians 3:16 Think of it this way; If the rich & rewarding message of Christ truly ‘fills up’ your life, the kindness & love Jesus taught will actually ‘spill out’ onto everyone you come into contact with!
Because God is so generous with us, we must always be eager to share His words & wisdom with each other.

Living Wisely Is Speaking With Grace

Morning Inspiration! Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. Colossians 4:5–6
Paul’s instructions echo the teaching of Jesus, to be as wise as serpents & as gentle as doves. We are to be actively involved in our world, but not ‘caught up in’ or carried away by all the fear, anger, ugliness & hate. Our conversations are critically important, so we must focus on being kind, caring & forgiving. We are most effective when our gracious words (& lives) make the Gospel attractive to others. A right response isn’t simply pleasing people, by saying what they want to hear. Practice graciously speaking His Truth in love. That gives glory to God, by making Him more approachable & attractive to non-believers.

Finding Quiet Confidence In Christ

Morning Inspiration: “Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, who pleases me. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle.
Isaiah 42:1-3 Seven centuries before Christ came to earth, Scripture described how Jesus would display the amazing power of The Holy Spirit, & change the world, without even raising His voice. Notice His care & concern for those described as ‘the weakest’ or ‘flickering’. As followers of Jesus, we must always display, the same mix of strength & tenderness today. Speak His truth, with care & concern for the hurting. Live out His love for the unlovable, with the quiet confidence that (as Scripture also describes) Jesus is coming back again very soon, to complete His mission.

We Shouldn't Be Afraid Of Them!

Morning Inspiration: The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe. Isaiah 8:11–14 Written over 2,700 years ago, this sounds like it’s intended for us today! God says not to worry about what others may be plotting against us. As loyal members of His Holy family, we are safe, regardless of how evil their intentions may be. Place your faith in Jesus & strive for obedience to His teachings. The only thing we should fear, is disappointing our Lord & Savior.

What Kind Of Faith Do You Have?

Morning Inspiration: "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you, anyone who doesn't have their kind of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God." Mark 10:14-16 Little children trust us, because they believe in us. Most think their mom & dad can do anything! Jesus says we need that kind of faith in His Father. We don't need to have the answers to all the mysteries of the universe, as long as we completely trust and believe in the One who does! We can rest safely, knowing that the One True God, Who is our heavenly Father, has it under control.

Give Me Eyes To See His Truth!

Morning Inspiration: "Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your law. I am but a foreigner here on earth, & need the guidance of your commands." Psalm 119:18-19 Learning to clearly see the the reasons for God's laws, & the wisdom behind them, is an amazing awakening. A loving parent sets guidelines to protect their children, & explains expectations to help them mature. Likewise, our Father in heaven sets out our boundaries, & shows us the way to walk with Jesus. Following His Truth keeps us from stepping into the traps of this world, & safely guides us into His arms in the next.

Life Does Come With Instructions

Morning Inspiration! My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. I
will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. When you walk, you won’t be held back; when you run, you won’t stumble. Take hold of my instructions; don’t let them go.
Guard them, for they are the key to life. Proverbs 4:10–13 We often hear the phrase “Life doesn’t come with an instruction book!” Actually, it does!
God’s Holy Word, known as the Bible, is filled with directions to guide us securely through life. Proverbs is an awesome collection of tried & true wisdom, instructions & encouragement. Reading a Proverb every day is a powerful step towards living a life of fulfillment & purpose.

We Share In His Promises

Morning Inspiration! “But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one,
descended from Abraham my friend,
I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:8–10 As our brothers & sisters of the Jewish faith celebrate Chanukah this week, it’s a great time to review Scriptures like this, that point to our common past, & our shared hope in the future. God chose Jacob (later named Israel) & his people to be selected & protected above all others. Through Jesus the Messiah, we Gentiles were grafted into the family tree. So we also inherit these comforting promises. We need not be afraid or discouraged. We are His chosen children & will not be thrown away! Jesus strengthens us through our trials & troubles. He’ll …
